RE: Dinner for Dr. Spargo at USCAP Meeting, 1996 Officers and Committee Members


IMPORTANT NOTICE: There will be a RPS reception and dinner in honor of Dr. Benjamin Spargo on Sunday, March 24, 1996 in Washington, D.C. during the USCAP Meeting. The reception will be held from 5:30-7:00 PM in the Cabinet Room of the Washington Hilton and is free to members and guests. The dinner will follow at 7:00 PM in the Hemisphere Room of the Washington Hilton. The charge for the dinner is $50.00 per person. If you plan to attend the dinner, please fill out the enclosed form and send a check made payable to the Renal Pathology Society to me by March 11.

The RPS Companion Meeting will be on Sunday, March 24 from 8:30-12:00 AM in the Georgetown Room. The topic will be Advanced Renal Disease and Renal Transplantation, moderated by Arthur Cohen with presentations by Mark Weiss (Acquired Renal Cystic Disease and End-Stage Kidneys), Fred Sanfilippo (Current Concepts in Transplant Immunology and Pathobiology), Richard Sibley (Pathology of the Transplanted Kidney), and Stephen Bonsib, (Recurrent Diseases in the Transplanted Kidney). The RPS Business Meeting will follow the Companion Meeting also in the Georgetown Room.

The Renal Pathology Evening Specialty Conference is on Wednesday night from 7:30 to 9:00 in the International Ballroom West. Panelists include John Tomaszewski, Daniel Sedmak, Mary Fidler, Parmjeet Randhawa, and Richard Sibley. Dr. Kim Solez will be placing the cases on the Renal Pathology Society WWW home page. This will allow you to examine the case histories and images of the pathologic specimens prior to the conference.

I am please to announce 1996 officers of the Renal Pathology Society as follows: President: Vivette DiAgati* (1 year term); Vice-President: Arthur Cohen* (1 year term); Secretary Treasurer: Charles Jennette* (3 year term); Councillors: Charles Alpers* (3 year term), Seymour Rosen* (3 year term - 2 years remaining); Robert Colvin* (3 year term - 1 year remaining).
