The Renal Biopsy

In clinical practice, final diagnosis of renal diseases is made by renal biopsy, to determine patient prognosis and therapy.  In the majority of cases the tissue obtained is a needle biopsy.  Renal biopsy interpretation is complex: nephropathologists use light microscopy, immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy in most cases.
