Report of CME on Renal Pathology of Indian Society of Renal and Transplantation Pathology in collaboration with ISN on 12th December 2007 at New Delhi and newly elected office bearers of ISRTP
Warm Greetings from Indian Society of Renal and Transplantation Pathology
CME on Renal Pathology was held at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi on 12th December 2007 from 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM. Meeting was jointly organized by the ISRTP and ISN. Scientific Programs were sponsored by ISRTP.
CME was attended by approx 120 participants including practicing nephrologists, pathologists and postgraduates. There were 6 invited talks on renal pathology followed by 6 related interesting case presentations and discussion. A PG quiz in form of digital photographs of renal lesions and short history was also conducted. Meeting started with welcome address of Prof DS Rana and Dr Manoj Jain. Dr. Surya V Seshan congratulated the ISRTP for their activites, highlighted the importance of the joint CMEs of renal pathologists and nephrologists and delivered a lecture. Prof V.N Acharya, Mumbai, eminent nephrologist was the chief guest and chaired many sessions. Proceedings of the CME in form of a CD having all talks and case discussions were distributed to the participants. The program was highly appreciated by everyone. Nephrologists and pathologists had equally participated in the discussions, complementing eachothers view. It was felt that similar kindly of joint nephrologists and renal pathologists CME should be conducted regularly.
After the renal pathology CME, annual meeting of ISRTP was held. The meeting was chaired by Prof RK Gupta, President ISRTP. Secretary and treasurer Dr Manoj Jain presented the annual report and account details of the Society. Annual meeting was attended by approx. 15 members. Upon the request of Prof RK Gupta, Prof Kusum Joshi kindly agreed upon to hold the post of President of ISRTP. Prof Sarah Kuruvilla, Chennai, kindly agreed to hold the post of Vice President of ISRTP and Dr Amit Dinda, New Delhi, kindly consented to hold the post of editor of ISRTP and to start news-letter of the society and an educational website related to renal pathology and renal pathology case discussion forum. The meeting ended with thanks to the present and past presidents, Prof Kusum Joshi and Prof. R.K.Gupta. |
