II. THE LILIANE STRIKER YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD
Nomination procedure
In 2006 the Young Investigator Award was named after Liliane Striker
in recognition of her many contributions to renal research. The Liliane Striker Young Investigator Award was established to encourage excellence in the area of renal pathology research by young investigators. The recipient will be selected from those nominated based on the quality of his/her abstract(s) submitted to the ASN or USCAP Annual Meeting. Awards in the amount of $500 (US) will be presented at the ASN and USCAP Meetings.
Qualifying criteria and nomination procedure:
The nominee must be the first author on the abstract and be nominated by a member of the RPS. The RPS member does not need to be a co-author of the submitted abstract but should be from the same institution as the nominee. The research must have been carried out while the candidate was a trainee (resident, fellow, graduate student) and not a faculty member. Nominations should be submitted to Steve Bonsib, Chair of the Nominating and Award Committee.

III. THE CONRAD PIRANI TRAVEL AWARD
Nomination procedure
This award honors Dr. Conrad Pirani’s legacy and contributions to renal pathology. The seed-money was donated by Dr Pirani in his will. The original funds have since been supplemented by donations from generous RPS members (please consider a donation to this fund when you renew your membership).
The intent of the award when established was to assist junior members with an accepted abstract whose financial situation made international travel difficult or impossible. Junior faculty (instructors, assistant professors) and renal fellows from the US and presenting at an international meeting, or working outside the USA and presenting at a meeting in the US qualify for this award. Documentation of need will be required for consideration of this award. Up to $1,500 will be awarded to the successful candidate (maximum of two awards / year). Applications should be forwarded to Steve Bonsib, Chair of the Nominations and Award Committee
Qualifying criteria and nomination procedure:
1. Junior member of the RPS (instructor, assistant professor, or renal fellow)
2. Accepted abstract to an international meeting
3. Letter from Program Director or Mentor validating need, that is, travel to the meeting will be difficult or impossible without additional financial support
