Maria Picken was elected as an RPS councilor, in a close election.  We had 8 nominees for the Striker Young Investigator; the award will be given to Dr. John Keeling for 2 outstanding abstract presentations.  There were 3 formal nominations for the Churg award; the award will be given to Dr. Helmut Rennke.  The committee recommends that the Pirani travel award be in the amount of $1,000-$1,500 for travel support (may be partial) for a young investigator to an international meeting (with more than 20% attendees from another country or countries) - details to be discussed at the RPS meeting, and/or to bring a speaker to an RPS conference/symposium.
