An Update on the Classification and Pathologic Diagnosis of MGRS Lesions
The term monoclonal gammopathy of renal significance (MGRS) was introduced in 2012 by the International Kidney and Monoclonal Gammopathy Research Group. In 2019, the definition of MGRS, the diagnostic criteria, and classification for MGRS-related diseases were updated. At the end of this session, the participants will be able to classify renal diseases associated with MGRS, to list and discuss the entities recently included in the spectrum of MGRS-associated kidney diseases.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Samih H. Nasr
After graduating from Damascus University (Syria), Dr. Nasr completed his pathology residency and nephropathology fellowship at Columbia University, New York. He then served on the faculty at McGill University and Columbia University. He has published over 165 manuscripts, focusing on paraprotein-related kidney diseases and glomerular diseases with organized deposits, including amyloidosis and fibrillary glomerulonephritis.
