Pirani Travel Award
This award honors Dr. Conrad Pirani's legacy and contributions to renal pathology. The seed-money for this award was donated by Dr. Pirani in his will. The original funds have since been supplemented by donations from generous RPS members (please consider a donation to this fund when you renew your membership).
The intent of the award when established was to assist junior members with an accepted abstract whose financial situation made international travel difficult or impossible. The junior RPS faculty members may reside in the US and requesting to travel abroad or reside outside the US and requesting to travel to the US to attend a RPS sponsored or endorsed course or a meeting.
Documentation of need will be required for consideration for this award. Up to $800 will be awarded to the successful candidate.
Call for nomination will be sent to the RPS membership by the Nomination & Award Committee Chair by Sept 15th, at the latest, of any given year. Members will have 2 weeks to nominate candidates for this award from the time the announcement is posted.
Nominations should be sent by email to the Chair of the Nomination & Award Committee, and should include:
Note: RPS and non-RPS members can nominate a candidate who meets the award criteria.
The RPS promotes excellence in diagnosis, fosters basic, clinical and translational research, encourages training and education in renal disease, sponsors US based and international conferences and symposia, and brings news and updates pertaining to renal pathology to its members around the world.
